"So many countries, so little time!" to borrow a phrase. When
I was young I heard about a club where the requirement for joining was
having completed travel to more then 100 countries and that seemed to
be a worthwhile lifetime goal! I am in the 30s for number of countries
that I have visited which means I am less then a third of the way there...but
still there have been some amazing places on the way! These are some of
the stories that I'd like to share with you of places seen and adventures
had...

Onwalkabout.com - 12,000 kilometers across India, Nepal, & Bangladesh |
 |
After spending 13 years in Taiwan,
it was time to go “onwalkabout”, see a little of the world
and do some of those things that I'd been putting off for years. This
is a journal of a motorcycle adventure riding around India, Nepal
and Bangladesh on a classic Royal Enfield Bullet for most of 2003.
I had a goal to follow where the road led and take pictures of the
beauty I saw on the way. With just that as a rough idea, a GPS to
guide me and this site, a notebook and camera to bring you along.

Won't The God's Ever Stop Playing With Me??? |
Six weeks in the hospital and
the only thing I was dreaming of was getting my convertible out into
the mountains and feeling the wind in my hair. In a body cast, and
walking with a four-legged walker, I wedge myself behind the wheel...then
the god's decide to have some more fun with me! (May

| 07. Parasailing
Above Mount Blanc, Chamonix, France. |
 |
An innocent bet made with Jim Chu
about our futures in 1995 turns into an incredible payout when he
being the perfect gentleman fulfills on losing the bet by taking me
all expenses paid to Chamonix, France for a week of skiing in the
beginning of 2001. Great weather, great skiing and parasailing in
front of Mount Blanc...what more could one ask for...well, perhaps
some more Vin Chaud!

Terrain Motorcycles in Bali, Indonesia |
 |
For some reason I just
can't seem to stay on an off-road motorcycle. On this trip to Bali,
I was pretty excited to get on one again after going over a cliff
on one 15 years ago. Well, just like last time I ended up on my head.
Fortunately, I got it on video for you.

Hanging on the Beach, Krabi Thailand |
 |
Running away for the weekend is
one of the easiest things to do here in Asia with all the beaches,
culture, mountains you could want in any direction. Here's a diary
of sun, skinny dipping and reveling in wonderful food on the beach.
There are crabs making little homes and sea kayaking but basically
this is the diary of someone overworked who found the lest things
amazing when dumped into paradise with no stress

How About A Few Million Bottle-Rockets - Pointed At YOU!! - Yen Shui
- 1999-03 |
 |
Something that
you could only get in Taiwan is how one friend put it - several million
fireworks and bottle rockets aimed directly at 120,000 visitors who
for one night a year show up in a small Taiwan town to face down the
dragon! (March

Hwang Di Dian (The Kings Place), North Taiwan. |
 |
A trip just an hour out of Taipei
that puts you at the top of the world. Along with a couple of friends,
I visit a ridge looking down upon two incredible valleys along the
razor ridge of The King's Place.

Shan (Jade Mountain), Central Taiwan |
 |
The highest peak in Northeast Asia
is conquered by for fun loving guys. The sunrise over a sea of clouds
is not to be missed, and as all ways, taking the path less taken proved
to be a brilliant move.

| 01. The Chiang Kai-Sheck Memorial,
Taipei Taiwan (- temporarily removed) |
 |
One of the three monuments (to
date) which has deeply moved me, the Chiang Kai-sheck memorial with
the National Theater and National Opera House on the sides is one
of my favorite places in the world. This is a view of the memorial
from the center of the plaza
